LGM Industries was engaged to carry out the replacement of two of Simcoa’s furnaces.
Simcoa is Australia’s only silicon manufacturing company. They needed to undertake some major furnace reconditioning which included the replacement of two of their furnaces.
Works included replacement of significant portions of the furnace shell as well as fabricating necessary auxiliary components.
The scope of work involved in this project included the fabrication of:
- Furnace shell quarters and rim shell halves.
- Stoking floor lip assembly and floor plates.
- Components for the thermocouple wells.
- The voltage pick up points.
- Shell bracing members.
- Barb fittings for the shrouds.
The site work included the supply, removal and installation of materials and equipment involved in the refurbishment of the furnace.
