Our people are the core of our business and we have a genuine desire to help them strive to be the best they can be at work, at home and as part of their local community.
We live by the LGM Values which has led to our reputation as a tight-knit, supportive and committed team of people who want to be known for exceeding the expectations of our clients. We know that our collective behaviour is our brand, so our focus is on nurturing and developing this through all levels of the business.
LGM always have decent sized jobs on the go and a lot of variety so you never get stuck doing the same thing.
You get to go to different locations with different types of site work so there is always an opportunity to learn.
I’m now a Leading Hand and LGM have put me through really good leadership training which helps me in the job I’m doing now but also gives me confidence to take on a different leadership role down the track.
My career has gone extremely well at LGM since I joined in 2010. I’ve moved from being a TA to an apprentice, a tradesman, leading hand and now a supervisor. Every day is different and there is a lot of room to learn and grow. We always have good guys to work with and there is a lot of support from the guys above. Everyone has time for each other and are looking to help each other out.
LGM are a good company and they have been really supportive of me and my family life too.
I started in 2015 as a leading hand, moved into supervision and I’m now a project manager. They are a great fit for me as I thrive on a challenge, like to do a job well, complete it on time and I enjoy taking on responsibility.
The work is really well organised, the communication is excellent, and they have a lot of good tradesmen who get a kick out of doing a good job. This means your skills are always improving and the whole work environment is much more enjoyable. LGM have a lot of empathy from the leadership team down and you get that strong sense of family and that we are all in it together.
A lot of different structural, pipeline and maintenance work comes through the workshop and there are plenty of opportunities to learn different skills and I like the variety.
I was initially looking for an apprenticeship but LGM had plenty of work on, so I started as TA. It wasn’t long afterwards that I was offered an apprenticeship and I am now into my third year. I’ve learnt a lot of new skills including welding, fabrication, pipe fitting, plate work and general hand skills with welding and grinding. It’s a good place to work and the people are friendly.
LGM is engaged in the communities in which we operate. Whether it's through the sponsorship of sporting events such as the Bunbury Triathlon, encouraging our team to participate in the local blood donation drive or building the train for the local community fair – LGM is there to encourage people to strive to be the best they can be and support those in need.
