LGM was engaged to carry out the construction works required to install a new 110m stack, Sulphuric acid storage facilities and refurbishment of existing plant.
The Plant Stack Erection Works for the SR1 Kiln is situated within Iluka Resources North Capel site,located approximately 25km south of the city of Bunbury and 4.5km north of Capel.
The SR1 Restart Projects intends to restart the SR1 facility at North Capel, which has been idle for 10years and produces synthetic rutile
LGM was engaged for the supply and installation of this project which included:
- 110m Stack erection. Loading, transporting and installing the seven stack sections together, welding the inner liner at each joint from the inside (including 100% NDT testing and passivation).
- Installing two platform levels and spiral staircases.
- Supply and installation of insulation to the inner flue after installation at the joints.
- Installation of the Stack Access Platform & Duct Supports.
- Erection of the FRP Plant Stack, B4 Fan Ducting and Sulphuric Acid Facility.
- Sulphuric AcidStorage Tank, pumps and pipe work.
